Alex Scott and his England teammates were crowned European under-19 champions on Friday night.
The former St. Martin's and Guernsey FC footballer played the first 73 minutes of the final as England beat Israel 3-1 in Slovakia.
England went one-nil down just before half time but equalised in the second half before scoring twice in extra time to win the age-group European Championship for the second time in five years.
Scott's success with England capped a great few hours for fans of Guernsey's professional sports stars after tennis player Heather Watson stormed into the last 16 of the women's singles at Wimbledon for the first time in her career.

Scott forced his way back into England's starting line-up for the final after coming off the substitutes' bench in the semi-final against Italy and scoring with his first touch in a 2-1 win.
Scott started the final in a deep central midfield position and found it harder to have an attacking impact on the match.
It was a physically demanding final. Scott suffered a nasty head injury in the first 10 minutes and in the second half he was booked for a foul on Israel's goalscorer.
Scott was replaced with 17 minutes of normal time to play with the score at 1-1.

Winning the European Championship with England ends an impressive first full season as a professional for Scott.
The 18 year old started 35 of Bristol City's 46 league games in the Championship.
He was one of only three players from clubs outside the Premier League selected in England's squad for the European Championship.
After the final, Bristol Live reported: "While Scott's showing in the final may not have been the finest of his relatively short career, there is no doubt his stock has continued to rise throughout the tournament having started three matches, earning rave reviews from those who have followed the competition closely."
