At the half-way point of the friendly games, Team Jersey's men's football team have crashed out of the competition, just, on goal difference.
Despite several impressive performances on the third full day of the 17th Island Games in Gotland, Team Jersey have also relinquished the top of the medal table to the Isle of Man.
Out of the three matches they played, the men's football team won two and drew one. Despite conceding the same amount of goals as the Menorcan team, the Jersey men's team missed out on the semi-finals by just one goal. They will play against the host team, Gotland, on Thursday for 5th place in the event.
However, the blow of Team Jersey's defeat on the football pitch was softened on the Tennis Court as the men's team, consisting of Jeremy Cross, Stuart Parker, Michael Watkins and Scott Weaver won against Gotland to take gold.
Overall, Team Jersey have accrued 36 medals, including 14 gold, 9 silver and 13 bronze, placing them fourth in the medal table, behind the Isle of Man, the Faroe Islands and Guernsey.
