Fresh off the back of their promotion success, the unbeaten Jersey Bulls will face a new challenge this summer… going up against a trio of big names, including a team founded by a popular YouTuber.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that the Bulls would be charging up the league ladder, having secured promotion to the step five of the non-league football system after previously being held back by the FA due to covid-19. They will play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South.
With an unbeaten run of 36 games, Jersey Bulls are hoping to continue this winning streak in the new season ahead. They have strengthened their coaching staff and created an under-23 team to strengthen their first team and provide opportunities for young players.
Jersey Bulls' Chair Russell Le Feuvre stated: “We are delighted to have received upward movement from the English FA and look forward to the new challenge of playing Step 5 Football. As a club we are extremely proud of the efforts of all the players, management, and committee over the first two disjointed seasons. Thank you to all of our supporters.”
The new season is due to start on 7 August 2021 with selected pre-season matches commencing in Jersey from 10 July with the hope of playing in front of supporters.

Manager Gary Freeman commented: “Our initial reaction to this news is one of relief, it’s been a long process and we are so pleased the FA have rewarded those teams that deserve promotion over what has been a testing few seasons.
"I am absolutely delighted for the players.”
Team Captain James Querée added: “We’re excited for the challenges that are ahead, going into a league full of quality opposition and the potential of a first ever FA Cup game. Obviously a big thank you to the Club, the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and for the continued backing of our supporters.”

One of the oldest clubs in the world, Cray Wanderers FC will also be competing, as well as Hashtag United FC, a semi-professional club based in Essex with more than one million social media followers that was founded by popular FIFA YouTuber Spencer Owen.

The Jersey Bulls were formed in 2018 and have a "short but proud" history, including a 100% winning record. They formed to build on the momentum gathered by other local sporting success stories.
Their vision was to "create a sustainable, successful, financially viable, democratic football club that creates and maintains real and lasting benefits to its members and the local Jersey community."
They also want to improve playing standards and offer local elite players opportunities to play at higher levels on a regular basis, while also providing entertainment for the club's supporters.
