Two local businesses are aiming to raise £100,000 to organise a post-lockdown “free night of entertainment, music and dinner” for staff who have served on the frontline throughout the health crisis.
Nathan Wilczynski from SD Catering and James Robertson from The Event Shop are organising the event to “celebrate and recognise the fantastic efforts” of frontline workers in Jersey.
“What better way than to put on an evening for them?” James told Express.
Up to 1,000 workers will be invited to attend one of two celebrations, which will be held on consecutive evenings.

As well as entertainment, music and dinner, the evenings will include stories and achievements from frontline staff. The duo say that it is their way of saying ‘thank you’ to the people who have been “putting their lives on the line” during the covid-19 pandemic.
The event will involve local event suppliers and vendors - many of whom James said have been “severely affected by the covid-19 situation."
“We want to give people something to look forward to, both for the frontline guests and for our local businesses putting on the event.”

To fund the Frontline Ball, Nathan and James are hoping to raise £100,000 through sponsorship and their online fundraising page.
“It’s a big target to reach but we’re optimistic that we can get there and do something really fantastic for these frontline workers,” James said.
“Who knows where this event could go? If we exceed the fundraising target, we could make it bigger and bigger.”
The pair is currently in discussions with suitable venues to hold the event, and say that they will be able to set a date “as soon as government restrictions regarding events are lifted."
