Jersey FA kicks up standards with new partnership

Jersey FA Capita Centre of Excellence have kicked off a collaboration with Southampton FC Academy.

The new partnership will see the Southampton football school send over staff from coaching, sports science and medical areas to share their skills of how best coach local talents to be a top shot both on and off the pitch.

In the first visit of many more, Youth Development Phase experts Andy Marks and Sam Beaglehole visited Springfield Stadium last week to hold sessions on the delivery of coaching to under 12 and under 16 teams.

Jersey FA Football Development Manager, Brian Oliver said that he was, “…looking forward to working together on a number of exchanges throughout this season."

He added: “This enhanced partnership will give our players and coaches increased opportunities to receive up to date coaching practice and knowledge from one of Europe's leading player development Academies. 

"We are delighted to have such a strong link with Southampton FC Academy who have a proven track record in young player development.”
