A dramatic late try won Jersey RFC a magnificent win as they beat Nottingham at home this afternoon.
A delighted home crowd cheered the home side to a 17-13 victory – the perfect answer to last week’s historic 54-14 loss to Bristol.
Head coach Harvey Biljon described his side as “warriors” after the final whistle.
Jersey skipper Alex Rae was named man of the match for his performance, as he led a fantastic second-half performance including two tries to come back after going in 7-3 down at half-time.
The Jersey RFC team remain in tenth place overall, but have opened up a seven point gap over bottom-placed Ealing and are seven points behind Nottingham, who sit just above them. The pitch was only passed fit after an inspection this morning – there had been worries that days of rain could have led to the match being called off.
