Jersey has taken third spot in the top 10 UK holiday destinations - behind London and Edinburgh - in the annual Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice awards.
St. Brelade's Bay, Durrell and the War Tunnels are all cited as attractions not to miss in the Island.
On the Traveller's Choice page, Jersey is described as "...a mix of English reserve and French savoir-faire, cosmopolitan harbours and timeless hidden valleys, continental flair and scenes that are reassuringly familiar. Its diverse attractions and natural beauty offer something for everyone and make Jersey an ideal destination for short breaks, romantic weekends, active experiences, foodie getaways and family summer holidays."
Commenting on the award, Keith Beecham, CEO of Visit Jersey said: “It’s an honour for Jersey to be included in the top three places to visit in the UK and Channel Islands, particularly after our St. Brelade’s Bay was scored in the top three best beaches in the UK in the 2017 TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards. Jersey is small in size but big on personality and over the past year we’ve seen a big increase in first time visitors to Jersey."
"This award is testament to all the hard work of our tourism businesses and the special welcome visitors get in Jersey. We look forward to welcoming even more to enjoy the island break in 2017.”
The winners of the awards are determined with the help of an algorithm that takes into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions as well as traveler booking interest on TripAdvisor.
