Police and an ambulance were called at 06:57 and arrived at the scene of the accident near La Rue de Froid Vent shortly after.

Commuters experienced significant delays along Bagatelle Road as a result of the collision, with Police warning drivers to avoid the area.

Police said the 31-year-old postman was checked over by ambulance staff, who found that he had “minor injuries” which were not in need of medical attention.

The Jersey Post van, however, did not escape unharmed.

Police said no arrests were made following their investigation, which was closed at 09:05.
