Jersey Reds 23 Worcester Warriors 17

Sunday 21 August 2016

An inspiring win completed a trilogy of pre-season victories for Jersey Reds as Harvey Biljon’s side managed to put Premiership opposition Worcester Warriors' to the sword.

The Warriors looked very strong throughout the first half, but Jersey's defence held firm until the 27th minute when the visitors crossed for a try in the corner.

Two penalties and then a converted catch and drive classic try saw the Reds head in at half-time with an encouraging 13-5 lead.

The strong wind was playing a significant part in the contest, but in the second half the visitors didn't use it to their advantage as many in the crowd would have feared.

Two more tries each in the second half, with Worcester adding a conversion, and the Reds held on to record a memorable victory against their illustrious opponents.

It meant three wins out of three for Biljon’s team in the build-up to their new season, which kicks off in the first weekend of September with a trip to Richmond in the league.
