Bohemia is one of the best restaurants in Britain – and that's official.

The restaurant, ranked number 21 in the newly-published 2016 Good Food Guide, is praised for its “knockout contemporary cooking that alone justifies a flight to Jersey” and is one of ten Island restaurants to make into this year's guide to the very best eateries across Britain.

Sumas, Ocean Restaurant, the Oyster Box, Ormer, Tassili, Mark Jordan at the Beach and Longueville Manor are all included in this year’s guide – one that’s highly regarded by chefs and restaurant-goers alike - while Green Island Restaurant and The Green Olive have been listed as “local gems”.

Ormer is recognised for its “high-spec dining with brasserie-style buzz”; Tassili as a “headline restaurant at a luxury hotel”; Ocean Restaurant for its “holiday views and serious food”; The Oyster Box as a “magical beachside haven”; Mark Jordan at the Beach for its “crowd-pleasing brasserie dishes”; Longueville Manor for its “special occasion dining and seamless service” and Sumas as an “easy going seaside eatery”.

The most southerly restaurant in the British Isles – Green Island shines in the guide as one of Jersey's little gems - the restaurant that “wows the tourists with its splendid sea views, sought-after alfresco tables and dreamy location” while the Green Olive’s chef Paul Le Brocq is praised for giving “fresh fish and vegetarian dishes top billing at this funky little first floor eatery.”

La Fregate in Guernsey is also included in the main guide while both Da Nello and the Fermain Beach Cafe are listed as "local gems".

L’Enclume in Cumbria has won top spot on this year's list, Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in London is second and Pollen Street Social in London is third.

The Good Food Guide is on sale at Waitrose and you can find out more here.
