Jersey RFC set for biggest game of the season

Thursday 17 April 2014

Jersey’s Rugby coach says his players face a must-win game for Championship survival this weekend.

The struggling Reds take on London Scottish in St Peter on Saturday afternoon and need a win to keep a cushion between them and bottom-placed Ealing.

Head Coach Harvey Biljon said: "This is a very important game for the club but our focus this week has been on preparing as we would do for any other game. The players have been training hard, and they know what's required at the weekend.

"We aren't focusing too much on London Scottish, but certainly won't be taking them lightly - they have had a good season, and while they'll be looking to enjoy their weekend in Jersey, they will be seeking to get a win to enjoy as well."

Championship newcomers Ealing Trailfinders are just three points behind Jersey with two games to play so another loss could leave Jersey facing relegation.

And to encourage even more supporters to spur them on during the match the club is offering free entry to everyone under the age of 19.

Kick-off is at 2 pm
