The main Jersey Royal season is just around the corner, but our little potato treasure is already popping up in an unexpected way.
For one weekend only, to celebrate the start of the season, Jersey Royals are being served in a potato pop-up bistro in London’s Covent Garden.
Just Jerseys will open its doors on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April under the direction of celebrity farmer Jimmy Doherty, known for his appearances on the BBC and Channel 4.
The pop-up will serve Jersey Royals in their signature style - simply minted - dished up with a combination of Jersey butter, and flakes of Jersey sea salt.
Accentuating the renowned nutty flavour, creamy consistency and flaky skins, the Simply Minted serving will be accompanied by a choice of three dips created by Chef Doherty, available from £3 per portion.
Considered the ‘Champagne of the potato world’, Jersey Royal new potatoes are the only root vegetable in the UK to carry Protected Designation of Origin Status (PDO).
