A Jersey choir will be singing a ‘prayer for peace’ at Windsor Castle next week.
Jersey College for Girls' Chamber Choir has been invited to sing at St. George’s Chapel’s Evensong service on Wednesday 6 July.
They will be singing ‘Esti Dal’, composed by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály at the start of the Second World War.
The choir which performed the song earlier this year in front of the College during a vigil for peace in support of Ukraine.
John Bowley, JCG's Head of Music, said the choir was “extremely excited” about the trip, particularly as the first visiting choir after The Queen’s Platinum celebrations.
“The service of Evensong has been taking place for approximately 500 years across the cathedrals and chapels across the country, and it is wonderful to be part of this tradition.
“Surely there can be no better place for our wonderful choir to sing this summer.”
