Hop aboard the Apple Bus

Saturday 20 October 2018

Want the in-cider scoop on how one of the island's best-loved beverages is made? There's a festival for that, and it starts today.

Jersey’s weekend-long annual cider festival - La Faîs’sie d’Cidre, returns to Hamptonne Country Life Museum from 10:00 today.

On until 17:00 tomorrow, the event will host live music, dance, creative activities, local food and produce, competitions, poetry, and plenty of Genuine Jersey goodness spread across a number of stalls.

In an effort to save the fields belonging to local farmers after a hot summer, there will be no parking available onsite and Jersey Heritage are encouraging the public to travel by bus, bike, car share or walking to the event.

Jersey Heritage will also be running regular, free ‘Apple Bus’ services to and from Millbrook, where those that need to drive can leave their car, significantly reducing the traffic in the quiet country lanes of St Lawrence.

Sticking with the green theme, the organisers are also calling on visitors to bring their own cider cups to help reduce the amount of plastic waste at the festival.

Disabled parking will be available at Hamptonne, where there will also be an area to leave bikes.
