An international running phenomenon that took the island by storm when it landed in 2015 has now arrived... in junior form.
A marshalled weekly 'Junior Parkrun' has been set up at the Waterfront for children aged four to 14 to challenge themselves following funding from Jersey Sport.
Every Sunday morning, young children in Jersey now have the opportunity to take part in an organised 2k run. The runners will begin at Jardins de la Mar at 09:00, with the entirety of the run visible to parents and onlookers.

Emma Sterry, who co-directs the event, described it as "a whole heap of fun "encourages not just youngsters, but also their families to engage in physical activity."
Those interested in taking part should register online, then bring along a printed barcode to experience the action. Islanders are also welcome to register to volunteer by sending an email to the team.
Meanwhile, the Saturday Parkrun events at Les Quennevais Sports Centre continue to go from strength to strength, taking place at 09:00.

Started in 2015 by Paul Burrows, the 5k runs are open to people of all ages.
Its largest attendance was an impressive 515 runners - but organisers are still keen to encourage newcomers to turn up and enjoy themselves.
