Lifeboat crews had to be called out to Belcroute after reports of smoke coming from the engine room of a boat that was taking on water.
The RNLI sent its all-weather and inshore lifeboats to the area.
Fortunately, those on board had already transferred to a nearby boat.
Firefighters checked the vessel and found that there was no fire.
A lifeboat crew then boarded the boat and used a salvage pump before it was towed back to St. Helier.
