Public Voice Common Ground is a new pilot project launched by former CCA Gallery Director Sasha Gibb which aims to get the island thinking about their public spaces.

As part of the project, which has the support of the government’s Future Places Ministerial Group and the Arts, Culture and Heritage Department, Sasha wants to engage with the public to find out just what people need from the public realm, be it parks, public art, streets or sculptures.

She is meeting students, groups from charities and anyone else who wishes to have their say. She aims to reach 10,000 people with her three-minute survey, which is available in English, Polish and Portuguese.

Beginning in July, a series of "pop-up" green spaces are set to appear across St. Helier, including temporary forests provided Jersey Trees for Life planted in A.A Langois' skips.

Following this, the Pétanque area at the Weighbridge is set to receive a makeover, with a temporary grassed area to be installed alongside a maze for children and open space where Sasha is hoping to involve as many people as possible in the creation of a community mural.
