Live your life healthily, in style…

Monday 17 December 2018

The Bailiwick Express Business Academy is back, and Health & Style Club – a “personal trainer, stylist and life coach in one” – is one of the four finalists.

Health & Style Club is a membership site for women featuring workout videos, recipes and meal plans vetted by a registered dietician, personal styling courses, personal development courses and videos, and a masterclasses delivered each month on a new topic by professional contributors from around the world.

Their professional contributors are personal trainers, dieticians, psychologists, life coaches, health coaches, and stylists. Their members will have the benefit of their thousands of hours of collective training, years of experience, and unique points of view all in one place.

And their business has been made one of four finalists in the pan-island Bailiwick Express Business Academy competition because of its stand-out product that supports hundreds of smaller, niche lifestyle businesses across the Channel Islands. It gives those other ideas a platform to reach people, and because of that ingenuity, they could be in line for new support from a major investor, thanks to the Academy.

Kirstin Morris, the founder of the club, told Express a little about her business...

"I’m the founder/Chairman of the Jersey Children’s Charity and for the past six years I have run my own digital marketing consulting business, Bevelyn Media. Since founding the Health & Style Club in March 2017, I completed the Digital Jersey Coding Programme and acted as part of the development team which built the website, learned videography and video production, graphic design, and I’m currently completing my life coaching qualifications.

"I’m currently the only employee and I manage all aspects of the business from filming and editing, managing social media account, content creation and curation, customer services, email marketing, graphic design, and will soon be commencing group coaching sessions for premium members.

"There are hundreds if not thousands of small, lifestyle businesses struggling to be noticed in a crowded marketplace. Our aim is to become a showcase for these businesses and professionals - a place where our contributors can show what they do best and share their knowledge and expertise to help attract a new audience. For our members, it is a chance to experience all of this amazing content in one place, meet and interact with like-minded women in our private Facebook community, and ask questions of our professional contributors.

"Health & Style Club is your personal trainer, stylist, and life coach in one. Life can be so busy and sometimes we struggle to make time for ourselves (I think most women are guilty of this). All of us at some stage have neglected our exercise, developed unhealthy habits with food, fallen into a rut with our style or put aside a big dream. We are here to help!

"Imagine your day starting with a morning exercise routine with a personal training video, and finishing with a night-time yoga session to wind down and relax before bed."

In the next stage of the competition, Kristin will have to present her idea to a panel of some of the Channel Islands' top entrepreneurs and investors. Before that, however, Express wants YOU to have a say on which is the best business idea in a poll at the end of the week.

Tomorrow: Meet the burgeoning 'School of Popular Music'...
