Man admits involvement in importation of drugs

Sunday 07 July 2019

A 36-year-old man has admitted a series of drugs offences, including importation of MDMA and cocaine.

Stuart Brian Lines will be sentenced before the Superior Number - a panel that only assembles for the most serious cases - on 19 September for the offences that took place between August 2017 and December 2018.

He admitted three charges of being "knowingly concerned in the fraudulent evasion of the prohibition on the importation of a controlled drug" of MDMA between 1 August 2017 and the end of last year, as well cocaine on or before 20 December 2018.

Lines also pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, which were found in a flat in St. Helier.

Lines was also charged with further offences but his lawyer, Advocate Adam Harrison, entered 'not guilty' pleas to those.

Crown Advocate Conrad Yates said the pleas were accepted by the Crown.

As a result of his guilty pleas, Lines has been remanded in custody until the sentencing.
