Man admits nightclub assault

A 33-year-old man has pleaded guilty to assaulting someone at Mimosa.

Warren Ray Ashcroft (33) admitted to the charge of grave and criminal assault, which took place at the end of last year, during a Royal Court hearing on Friday.

It was heard that the assault happened on 15 December 2018 at Mimosa nightclub in Liberty Wharf.

Ashcroft appeared in the Royal Court and was represented by Advocate Luke Sette, who indicated his client’s ‘guilty’ plea to the charge.

Solicitor-General Mark Temple appeared for the prosecution.

The case was adjourned for one week for both counsel to make further arrangements ahead of sentencing.

In the meantime, Ashcroft was remanded on conditional bail.
