A 30-year-old has pleaded 'guilty' to importing one kilogram of MDMA into the island by post.
Joe Daniel Murphy made the admission in the Royal Court on Friday.
The importation took place on 4 November last year when a parcel, which Customs Officers said was sent in the post to an address in St. Helier, containing a kilo of MDMA - known colloquially as ecstasy - was intercepted.
Representing Murphy at this week’s Royal Court hearing, Advocate Michael Haines indicated his client’s ‘guilty’ plea to the offence.
The 30-year-old also denied the charge that he also imported 100g of cocaine.

Crown Advocate Chris Baglin told the Court that the prosecution accepted this ‘not guilty’ plea, but that the charge would remain on Murphy’s file.
Lieutenant Bailiff Anthony Olsen presided over the hearing and the case was heard by Jurats Blampied and Dulake.
Murphy was remanded in custody until his sentencing date on 2 April.
