Man charged following sea rescue at Greve D’Azette

A man appeared in court today charged in connection with the theft of a car, which led to a sea rescue at Greve D’Azette on Friday morning.

Barry John Picot, 31, of St Aubin, is accused of taking a car, theft and conspiracy to import drugs, namely heroin and cannabis. He is also charged with failing to provide specimens, driving whilst disqualified and without insurance.

A man was rescued from the sea during the incident, while the car nearby became submerged on the beach at Greve D’Azette. 

Picot was remanded in police custody until his next court appearance on August 8.
