A 31-year-old has been charged with grave and criminal assault and possession of an offensive weapon following an alleged brawl in the area of Kensington Place.

Marco Paulo Do Nascimento appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning in relation to the confrontation alleged to have taken place near the junction of the Wagon Wheel Café shortly before 23:00 on Saturday night (12 June).

Mr Do Nascimento, who was represented by Advocate James Bell, did not enter pleas.

He will next appear in court on 29 June and has been remanded on bail until then.
