A man has appeared before the Magistrate’s court accused of assaulting a woman, and the police officer who was called to the incident - and then violently resisting arrest.
27-year-old Grzegorz Ogiela from Poland, is charged with committing a grave and criminal assault on a woman on 22 April 2018 at a flat in St. Peter.
Mr Ogiela is also charged with assaulting the police officer who was called to the flat on the same day to attend the incident, and a further charge of violently refusing to be arrested.
No bail application was made by his defence lawyer, Advocate Cathy Fogarty, so Mr Ogiela was remanded in custody.
Magistrate Bridget Shaw has ordered him to return to court on the 8 May 2018.
