A 23-year-old man has appeared in the Royal Court charged with grave and criminal assault, which allegedly happened at a music festival last year.

Patrick Gabriel Correia Freitas, from Jersey, is accused of committing the offence at the Jersey Weekender Festival at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity on 3 September 2017.

Defence Advocate Lauren Glynn, representing Mr Freitas, pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the Grave and Criminal Assault charge.

The Bailiff, Sir William Bailhache, sitting with Jurats Olsen and Christensen, ordered a two-day trial set for the 12 and 13 July 2018.

Mr Freitas has been remanded on bail and is due back in court on 17th April for a directions hearing.
