A 60-year-old man accused of committing a serious attack is to stand trial in the Royal Court.
Terence Gouyette faces one charge of "grave and criminal assault", and appeared in the Magistrate’s Court last week.
Mr Gouyette was represented by Advocate Giles Emmanuel and Legal Adviser Advocate Katie Ridley appeared for the prosecution.
Magistrate Bridget Shaw, presiding, informed him that the nature of the offence was “too serious to deal with in this Court” and therefore sent the case to Jersey’s highest court.
