A 52-year-old man who was yesterday taken to A&E with knife wounds after a suspected attempted murder is in a "stable" condition, Health officials have confirmed.

Jersey Police arrested a 53-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder.

In a statement released shortly after midday yesterday, Police said that they went to an address in St. Peter following reports of what they are describing only as a "domestic incident" with a knife.

An ambulance was already there, with paramedics treating the man. The woman was arrested soon after.

They say that the people were known to each other, and are treating it as an isolated incident.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit are now investigating what happened.

A Health Department spokesperson told Express that the man was now being held on a ward where he remains in a "stable" condition.
