MDMA probe update: Three released from hospital

Three males have been released from hospital after being treated for the effects of suspected MDMA use, as the Police probe into a teen's "sudden death" believed to be linked with the drug continues.

Police confirmed yesterday (Saturday 15 February) that they had opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 19-year-old male, and the hospital admissions of three others, after responding to an ambulance call at 02:28.

Three males and one female aged between 17 and 26 were arrested in relation to drug supply offences and premises searched.

In an update last night, Police said the group remains in custody.

Meanwhile, the three individuals in hospital have been discharged. Police described them as "fit and well".

Investigations are continuing, and anyone with information that can help is being urged to contact Police by calling 612612 or making an anonymous report via the Crimestoppers website.

Islanders are being warned not to use the Class A drug, which is also known as ecstasy and usually comes in pill form, and anyone who has felt unwell after taking it is urged to seek medical help immediately.
