For eight months in 2014 Nick Le Cornu was a St Helier deputy.

He was elected in a by-election in March 2014 after Deputies Trevor and Shona Pitman had to resign their seats, but failed to keep his seat in the general election later in the year.

He's now hoping to stage a comeback. 

He says he's "standing as an anti-Austerity candidate in the interests of working people, pensioners and the poor."

But what about the man behind the manifesto? That's what our meet the candidates series is all about - finding out more about the person behind the prospective politician...

Establish a housing construction programme to meet need.

Who would you hate to be stuck in a lift with, and why?

Vladimir Putin.

Who would you vote for in this election if you couldn’t vote for yourself?

An invidious question, but I would not abstain.
