Sarah Ferguson narrowly missed out on being re-elected to the States in the 2014 General Election.

She finished in ninth place - only the first eight got in.

This by-election offers her the chance to get back into the House. Here's a bit more about the person behind the prospective politician:

What one thing would you do to improve life in Jersey?

Review and implement changes in the tax system to make it fairer so people don’t always need to be thinking about personal finances.

What’s your favourite place in Jersey?

St Brelade’s Bay.

What’s your favourite meal?

Something I don’t cook myself.

What’s your favourite pizza topping?

Pine kernels, red onions, Surfine capers, black olives, sultanas, mozzarella and tomato. 

What’s your favourite drink?

Rioja.

What’s your favourite song?

Anything from the musical Camelot (the Richard Burton version).

What’s your favourite book?

Anything by L. E. Modesitt Jr.

What’s your favourite film?

Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney.

If you were an animal what would you be?

A dragon, and not the cuddly kind.

Who would you like to be stuck in a lift with, and why?

John Seddon [a British occupation psychologist and author, specialising in the service industry] – so we could plan for an efficient States.

Who would you hate to be stuck in a lift with, and why?

Hillary Clinton  - can you imagine anything worse?

Who would you vote for in this election if you couldn’t vote for yourself?

Someone standing for the Island, not themselves.
