CCTV footage emerges as missing man search enters day six

Friday 11 December 2015

Police have revealed that they have interviewed 15 witnesses and found CCTV footage as the search for missing Adrian Lynch enters a sixth day - and say that they believe that he was disoriented and suffering from hypothermia as he wandered around country lanes in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police say that hopes of finding Adrian (20) alive are all but gone, but they continue to work with emergency services, and have deployed drones, divers, sniffer dogs and specially-trained search teams. His parents have also released an emotional statement thanking the emergency services for their work around-the-clock to find the young man, and to the public for their outpouring of support.

The police officer leading the search - Detective Superintendent Stewart Gull - has given an interview to Bailiwick Express in which he describes witness accounts of Adrian's last-known movements, including reports of him trying to get into peoples' homes, and calling out a girl's name as he wandered through the lanes of St Lawrence in the early hours of Saturday.

Last night, volunteers gathered at St John’s Parish Hall to co-ordinate the public effort to join the search and find the missing man.

A statement from Adrian’s parents – Danny and Sharon Lynch – said that the enormous efforts to find their son, and the messages that they have received from the public, have been overwhelming.

In a statement issued through the police, they said: “Danny and Sharon Lynch would like to thank everyone involved in the search for our son Adrian.

“We have seen first-hand the work that is going into the search and we are tremendously grateful and overwhelmed.

“We really appreciate all the positive thoughts and wishes.

“We would also like to make it clear that the fundraising page was set up without our knowledge and we would ask people not to give money on our behalf.”

Adrian was last seen at around 2 am on Saturday morning outside Bon Air Riding Stables.

His wallet and phone were found by police search teams not far away, and his belt was also found nearby.
