Missing man’s parents say four months on “it feels as though things are just getting worse”

The heartbroken parents of missing Adrian Lynch say that not knowing what’s happened to their son “is just unbearable” and have sent out another leaflet to Island homes to remind the public about what he was wearing when he disappeared.

Danny and Sharon Lynch have sent out a flyer listing some of the things that Adrian had on him when he disappeared four months ago, while walking home from a night out.

The flyer – which has been put together and distributed for free by Huggler Print, Signtech and Jersey Post – shows a picture of the missing 20-year-old, as well as what he was wearing and a car key that he had with him when he went missing.

Last week, the States of Jersey Police revealed that four detectives are still working on chasing down the last leads in the case of Adrian’s disappearance.

The police have confirmed that they are working through the last 35 “outstanding actions” remaining in Operation Panama, the investigation to find out what happened to the missing 20-year-old.

Detectives have said that they think he was disoriented and suffering from hypothermia after getting out of a taxi at Carrefour Selous at around midnight on 5 December after a night out, and that he probably died of exposure after seeking shelter somewhere.

In January, police told Bailiwick Express that the investigation to find Adrian was a “missing persons inquiry” and that the indications were that no-one else was involved with his disappearance, and that it is a tragic accident.

The full statement from Danny and Sharon Lynch says: “Four months have passed since Adrian was last seen and although time is said to be a great healer, in this case that doesn’t seem to be true. Not knowing where he is or what happened to him on that night is just unbearable and it feels as though things are just getting worse, the longer this goes on.

“We wanted to keep Ady in the news, so he is not forgotten and also to focus on some of the things he had on him on the night he disappeared, so we decided we wanted to produce some new flyers to be circulated island wide. This will hopefully help the public to keep a look out for these things when they are out and about.

“The flyers will be distributed from [yesterday] and they list a number of things that Adrian would have had on him when he went out on December 4th to his work’s Christmas party. The flyer shows a few photos and asks the public to look out for his Ford Fiesta car key and the key to his house, his signet ring that he was wearing, his blue suit and white shirt and T-shirt and his black shoes.

“We have been very fortunate to have received help from Huggler Print, Signtech and Jersey Post, all of whom have offered their services to us free of charge. We are extremely grateful for the generosity that they have shown to us and we have been moved to tears by the help that has been offered because we were unsure whether we would get any help at all with this. We cannot thank them enough as well as all the people that gave up their time to search or hand out posters or flyers in the months after Ady’s disappearance.”adrian_lynch_flyer.png
