Police bring in fresh expertise in hunt for Adrian

Tuesday 26 January 2016

A missing person expert from the UK is in the Island this week to help police in the hunt for missing Jersey man Adrian Lynch.

A team from the National Crime Agency is also here to do its own review of the case of the 20-year-old who has now been missing for 52 days.

Over the weekend, police checked the grounds and outbuildings at almost 200 properties in the Carrefour Selous area but failed to find any new leads. They plan to search more open land over the next few days.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Turner said: “Having spent most of Monday briefing the NCA & visiting St Lawrence, initial dialogue so far has centred on witness strategy and current hypotheses.

“Any recommendations or suggestions will be considered following the review with my management team. More broadly, this helpful review may just sign post other areas of investigation we may be able to exploit as the search continues to find Adrian.

“This is an independent peer review in order to help identify any new potential lines of enquiry we should consider pursuing. Peer reviews in cases such as this are regarded as national best practice and can benefit from an independent and fresh perspective on enquiries”.

“Over the last three days, the grounds and outbuildings of just under 200 properties have been searched, unfortunately nothing has been found. The support of the community has continued to be fantastic and I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their continuing assistance and cooperation.”

They believe images of a man caught on CCTV outside Thistlegrove just after 2 a.m. are the last sightings of Adrian who hasn’t been seen since he was walking home from a night out.

Police still want to hear from you if you live in St Lawrence or were in the area and saw anything between midnight on Friday 4 December and 4 am on Saturday 5 December that might help them with their search.

Anyone with any information should call the police on 612612 or on the anonymous Crimestoppers number 0800 555111.
