Loads of new houses are being built in town on the site of an old hotel.
Planning have approved Dandara’s new plans to build 179 homes on the site of the old Metropole Hotel in Roseville Street.
The property developers had already had plans approved back in 2011 for a 153-home development but have now got the go-ahead to build 57 one-bedroom, 118 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom homes with underground parking for 203 cars.
The Metropole was the German Commander's office during the Occupation and the 19th century property was once listed as a Building of Local Interest (BLI).
