Mr McGrath was last seen at home in Rue Du Maupertuis, St Clement.

According to police, he was heard "unusually" leaving the house at 05:30 yesterday morning (13 May).

Mr McGrath's family car, a white Ford Fiesta Zetec, was found in the car park at Grosnez Castle in St Ouen late yesterday afternoon.

Anyone who may have seen Mr McGrath or the car is being asked to come forward.

Mr McGrath is described as a white man with white hair, approximately five feet nine inches tall and of broad build.

He is thought to be wearing a black or navy short-sleeved top, dark grey or black wide legged tracksuit bottoms (either Londsdale or Adidas brand), and black Sketchers.

Rescue workers have searched the headland where Mr McGrath's car was found.

Police dogs, Jersey Coastguard, lifeboats, Jersey Search and Rescue, Channel Islands Air Search, Jersey Fire & Rescue Service crews and honorary officers are all assisting in the search for Mr McGrath.

The main focus of the search efforts so-far has concentrated around the north-west part of the island, with other areas also being identified.

Police said: "We understand that the public may be keen to assist in the search, but we would ask that they keep the area clear to allow the search and rescue efforts to continue unhindered."

Police would like to speak to anyone who has had contact with Mr McGrath in the last week.
