New social hub to attract tourists

Tuesday 01 September 2015

People planning a holiday in Jersey can now get the lowdown on the best places to go, stay and eat – from those who have already been.

A new social hub called ‘Experience Jersey’ has been set up to pool visitors' recommendations and drive people to find out more or book to visit their top attractions, restaurants or hotels.

The hub has been set up by Visit Jersey who are encouraging businesses and locals to get their visitors, friends and families to use some new hashtags to help drive more visitors to the Island.

The new hashtags are: #ExperienceJersey, #EscapeToJersey, #VisitJerseyCI and #JerseyCI.

Visit Jersey’s Head of Marketing Adam  Caerlewy-Smith said: “We know that peer recommendation plays a hugely important part in the decision making process for visitors today.  It can often be more powerful than traditional marketing and advertising campaigns and has the ability to create lifelong Jersey advocates.

"By pulling together user generated content in this way we’re not only benefiting the visitor but also businesses on island.”
