A children's choir formed to get the party started at this Summer's NatWest Island Games is proving it's more than a one-off act.
The young singers have had a busy few months and have now changed their name and are on the hunt for some new voices.
The Singcredibles, as they are now known, rehearse once a week between 4pm and 5.30pm on Tuesdays and are looking for new singers from Years 4,5 and 6.
They have taken centre stage at a number of high-profile events since the Games – A Night at Broadway at the Opera House, singing with school choirs alongside Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE at The Selfish Giant and performing for a group of French-speaking parliamentarians in the Island for the European regional conference.
Sincredibles Director Margaret Picot said: "The choir has now changed its name and the members chose the name Singcredibles. We are looking for new members to help us continue to grow and develop, rehearsing for a minimum of one concert per term."
Education, Sport and Culture Minister Deputy Rod Bryans added: “This is great news and shows that there are many unexpected, long-term benefits for the local community of holding major events here. The NatWest Island Games experience has enthused our students and opened up a new element of music education to them. I look forward to hearing the Singcredibles in action.”
The Jersey Youth Choir is also looking for new singers who are at secondary school. They rehearse on Thursday evenings from 4pm until 5.30pm and put on a concert each term.
Anyone interested in joining either choir or any Jersey Music Service band or orchestral group can find out more here or you can give the Jersey Music Service a call on 832230.
