The former Freedom Surf Shop at Les Quennevais Precinct will be extensively redeveloped and extended, with the top three floors being apartments, if Planning agree.
An application has been submitted to square off the building to the height of the tip of the current pyramid-topped roof.
If approved, the third floor – which will be set back from the others – will contain a one-bedroom flat, and the first and second floors will each contain a two-bedroom unit. All three apartments will have a south-facing balcony.
Permission has already been granted, given in March 2022, to change the use of the building from retail to a dental surgery.

Under the most recently submitted plans, the upper and lower ground floors will be retained as a dental surgery.
The new plans include a proposed ‘living wall’ and space for a piece of art, both on the west elevation.
The Bridging Island Plan - which sets the policies against which all planning decisions are made - introduces a 'settlement hierarchy' that establishes Les Quennevais as the island's secondary urban centre.
