A cyclist had to be taken to hospital after being hit by a car while travelling through St. Peter's Valley yesterday morning, Police have said in an appeal for more information.

Officers said the road traffic collision took place around 07:00 near the junction with Le Mont de L’Ecole.

"A Black Fiat 500 and a blue e-bike collided near the junction. It is believed that the cyclist was attempting to join the cycle track when the collision occurred," they said in a statement.

"An ambulance attended the scene and transported the cyclist to A&E with several injuries."
