Police hunt alleged ‘roll and ride’ danger driver

Tuesday 07 November 2017

Police are on the hunt for a driver who is said to have made a speedy getaway after smashing into a wall and rolling their car onto its roof.

The collision was reported to have happened in the early hours of Saturday morning at around 02:50 in the St John area.

A dark hatchback – believed to be navy blue and described as “similar to a VW Golf” – narrowly avoided crashing into another small car going in the opposite direction as it travelled north on La Grande Route de St John near the La Ruette Pinel junction after the Union Inn and Rondel’s Farm.

Following the narrow miss, Police say that the car may have “collided with a wall and rolled onto its roof before righting itself and then driving off at high speed.”

They’re now looking to speak with the dark car’s driver, as well as anyone else that may have any information. They ask that islanders contact them on 612612 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
