Police hunt cyclist after spate of indecent assaults

Friday 27 December 2019

Police are hunting for a cyclist who they suspect of committing a spate of indecent assaults in town on Christmas morning.

The Force are appealing for information after reports of three different women being indecently assaulted between 07:45 and 08:45 on 25 December in town.

They say the alleged incidents took place around the area of Hill Street.

Releasing a CCTV-captured image of the suspect, Police describe him as being 5’ 11” with short dark hair, wearing a dark tracksuit style top, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

He was riding a dark pedal bicycle.

Police would particularly like to identify a woman that was seen on CCTV being approached by the male on his bicycle at 08:23 on Hill Street as she walked along the pavement opposite the rear of the Royal Court building.

Anyone who has information regarding this individual or the alleged incidents is asked to contact Police on 01534 612612 or anonymously through Crimestoppers either on 0800 555 111 or via their online form.
