Jersey Police believe a body found late this morning on the beach at St Aubin is that of a 67-year-old who went missing earlier today.
They haven't yet officially identified the body, but the family of the missing man have now been informed.
John Cox was reported missing this morning, and Police officers, Honouraries and crews from the Fire Service all joined the search in the Noirmont area.
However, the Police have just issued the following statement:
“Police were called at 11.30am to St Aubin where a body was discovered on the beach. An investigation has been launched and the Viscount informed, however the body is believed to be that of a 67-year-old who was reported missing this morning. At this time there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances.”
