Colleagues, friends and family of a popular NSPCC worker who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last summer have held a fundraising walk to raise money for a local charity helping those with the disease.
Inspired by Steph Harding, the team turned up to trek from Corbière to Green Island last Sunday.
Jessica Nobrega, Children's Services Practitioner with the NSPCC, organised the event in aid of Jersey's Motor Neurone Disease Association.
"It was a really positive event, with lots of good spirit all around, all the while time having in mind our friend and colleague Steph and anyone who's ever had MND," she said.
"It was emotional at times too, but also surrounded by positivity and the knowledge that we were doing it for all those who had MND."
Taking between three and four hours, the walk raised funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (Jersey) which supports people in the island with the disease to ensure the best quality of life possible.
Recently, the organisation was funding for a specialist motor neurone disease nurse, after the Health Department withdrew their support earlier this year.
The Government has now reinstated the funding, which the charity's chair described as a "relief".
Jessica continued: "The Association also supports people with MND by adapting their home, supporting them emotionally and physically, and supporting their families who may have been impacted."
While there is not a specific fundraising page for the walk, participants are asking islanders to donate directly to MND Association Jersey in support.
