Jersey Post’s inaugural 'Postie of the Year' award has been given to a long-serving employee who always delivers "with a smile".
Keith Taylor (63) said it was a “nice surprise” to receive the award after being a postman for 25 years.
He spoke to Express from a customer's driveway, doing what so many islanders have voted for him being good at.
Mr Taylor said: "It's nice to be recognised and appreciated. I love my job, being out in the fresh air, seeing people, chatting. You really get to know people.
"I'd like to think I'm nice and polite, and if people say their parcel is missing or it didn't arrive then I go back to people's houses.
"I'm proud when it's all done and delivered and all that."
Over 300 members of the public got involved in voting for their favourite postie.
Mr Taylor thanked all the people that voted for him, adding: "It's been unstoppable, all the nice comments, and being on the television and all that.
"I'm so proud."
He said that he had been "so busy" that he hadn't taken his award out of the box yet, but added that it was tucked away where his cat couldn't reach.
Here's what the public had to say about their Postie of the Year:
"Top man, always has a smile."
"Nothing is too much trouble for Keith, he's always smiling. Everyone knows him in St Brelade."
"Great postman, always knows where to put parcels. He's hard working and reliable."
"He always goes the extra mile. He deserves this 100%."
"Friendly, efficient and a great guy!"
The Postie of the Year is part of the internal awards that recognise Jersey Post colleagues who have gone above and beyond over the past year.
