Roadworks which were delayed following the impact of Storm Ciarán were due to start at Beaumont Hill today.
The work, which Infrastructure Minister Tom Binet said would likely cause "disruption and inconvenience", is now expected to finish on 10 December.
To minimise disruption, work will take place at Beaumont Hill and Route de la Haule between 09:00 and 16:00 on weekdays, and 09:00 to 18:00 on Sundays.
Roads will be open as normal before 09:00 and after 16:00, and on Saturdays they will be open as usual.
The three-week project is part of an upgrade to the sewage network, with Deputy Binet saying previously it aimed to achieve a separation of surface water – surplus rain running off roads and roofs – from foul water, which comes from sinks, bathrooms and other household or business sources.
