Condor has been forced to cancel all today's sailings between the Channel Islands and the UK.
It’s likely to cause major problems during what is often the busiest week of the tourist season – Battle of Flowers week.
Problems with the Condor Liberation meant today’s Poole to Guernsey sailing took almost an hour longer than normal, and that the boat didn’t then go on to Jersey. Instead it headed back to Poole mid-afternoon. Passengers going on to Jersey were re-booked on the Clipper. It’s expected in Jersey at 19:20.
With ferries in all the wrong places and the need to carry out repairs Condor has cancelled all of tomorrow’s Channel Islands – UK sailings. It’s not clear what the effect will be on the rest of the week’s timetable.
Today’s problems are the latest in a series that has blighted the company – and in particular its multi-million pound flagship, Condor Liberation - this year.
The company’s recently appointed Chief Executive, former Guernsey Deputy Paul Luxon – says the past 12 months have been the company’s most difficult period ever. He’s vowed to improve the service.
