Teens from across the island recently rocked out in a fierce battle to be crowned as Jersey's top young band – with one trio emerging victorious. Express spoke to the winners...
The second edition of Jersey Music Association's Under-18 Battle of the Bands welcomed almost double the acts as the inaugural competition.
On Saturday 13 July, ten young bands – including an all-girl "dad rock" group and an Ozzy Osbourne-inspired troupe – took to the stage at the Watersplash to fight to be crowned as Battle of the Bands 2024 winners.

This year, the coveted title went to rock band 4K, featuring Erin, Joshua, and Thomas.
Now with a gig booked for Weekender 2023, Express checked in with the talented teens to see how they're feeling about their win and where they go from here...
We all felt really happy when we were announced and were also very shocked. It didn't feel real, we only started realising we won after we left!
It means a lot to all of us because we have all been playing music together for ages and are really good mates and we have always dreamed of playing a massive event like Weekender!
We were very pleased with our performance, it’s the best we’ve ever played live.
Pictured: 4K faced some "very very tough competition" to win the trophy.
The competition was very very tough, every band was really good in different ways and we weren't sure that we were going to win.
In fact, we thought we wouldn’t win because of how good other bands were!
It will take us into the future by being offered to play more gigs which we all love to do!
It has also given us a lot of confidence because winning wasn’t easy.
Our favourite thing about our band is that we’re all friends and have played music together for ages, which means we have a really good bond with each other.
We have been asked to play at Weekender and a Corn Riots festival event.
We are going to practice the set we played at Battle of the Bands, which was three songs, plus three or four more on top.
A number of other prizes were awarded at the Jersey Music Association's Under-18 Battle of the Bands competition.
