A young man will face trial in the Royal Court next year over an allegation of rape last autumn.
Manuel Ricardo dos Ramos Aguilar (23) was accused of raping a woman on 15 October 2017, but denies the charge.
His 'not guilty' plea means that the case will now go to trial. Mr Aguilar appeared in the Royal Court on Friday for a date to be set.
He was represented by Defence Advocate Jean-Marie Renouf, who informed the Court of his client’s plea.
Presided by the Bailiff, Sir William Bailhache, the court decided that the trial will begin on 13 May next year.
In the meantime, Mr Aguilar has been released on bail subject to various conditions until an interim hearing on 6 December.
