After a successful debut, the team behind Saturday’s Reasons festival at Millbrook say that they’ll be back with more events – possibly as early as the autumn.
Ben Newman said that there were around 2,000 people at Saturday’s event at Millbrook for a line-up that included hip-hop legends Pharcyde as well as dance acts Josh Wink, Norman Jay OBE, Jazzie B OBE and Daddy G from Massive Attack.
Although the final numbers were short of the venue’s 3,000 capacity, Mr Newman said that he was delighted with how it went.
“From an organisational point of view, we were very happy,” he said.
“There was very little trouble at the festival, there was a really great atmosphere throughout. There were great performances from the artists – there were a few who have gone home with some new fans.
“And the venue was the star of the show! Everyone said how great it was, it lends itself well to that type of event and it sections off very well.
“We’re in the early planning for an Autumn/Winter festival which would be a multi-venue event, with workshops, exhibitions, Q&As, a couple of parties and a big party at the end on the Saturday.
“This isn’t just a one-off – we’re already planning next year’s summer Reasons festival, and we’re planning something more family oriented, still about electronica and roots music, but much cheaper prices and a lot of interactive things for kids to do.”
