For all of Jersey's dominance in key areas through the rest of the half, the Reds failed to turn pressure into more points, the most noticeable let-off when Bell failed to gather a poor pass when he would have been certain to score in the corner.

The second half was a complete opposite of the first, and it was Bedford who registered their first try of the afternoon as Griffiths had a kick charged down; the ball bounced kindly for the home side and was worked well through the hands to Pritchard who went over in the corner for an unconverted try. 

Pritchard put that miss behind him as he converted a penalty moments later to put the Blues in front for the first time. The lead was to change 5 times during the second half, and it was Jersey who were next on the scoresheet as Griffiths did well to peel off a driving maul to score a try with Bell adding the extras.

Bedford regained the lead when Tapley touched down under the posts following a good run by Wigglesworth: 18-15.

Jersey continued to use their driving maul to good effect, and it was from a line-out that the visitors secured their next try, with Garcia-Vega touching down under a mass of bodies, but again Bell was unable to add the extras from a wide position.

The decisive Bedford score came when Jersey were reduced to 14 men after McCrea had seen yellow for something he said to the referee. The Blues kicked to touch and then set up an attack, moving the ball through the backs before Sharp crossed and Pritchard converted to make it 25-20.

Jersey did have a chance to turn it round at the end when Bell kicked a penalty to the corner, but the resulting line out did not go to hand and Bedford cleared their lines and held on.

Jersey did pick up a losing bonus point, but having led for the 5th time at half time out of five Championship starts this season, the travelling faithful left disappointed.
